Cut down on vaping.

Sessions a day and the strength of the liquid are two levers. Curb steps both, one week at a time.

Two levers

Each one has a strength, so a switch to a lighter one is a step down on its own. Curb plans with count times strength, and when the count gets low, the plan moves to a lighter strength and gives some of the count back.

The app offers 50 mg/mL, 25 mg/mL, 12 mg/mL, 6 mg/mL, and 3 mg/mL.

The strength switch in the same plan. The routine stays the same while the dose drops.

What a plan looks like

One plan, from 12 sessions a day to zero at the steady pace, week by week.

The schedule as the app draws it, for 12 sessions a day at 25 mg/mL: to zero in 9 weeks. Solid is walked, dashed is ahead, and the diamond is the strength switch. Yours is drawn from your own numbers.

What tends to help

  1. Spend the first week only logging. You cannot step down from a number you are still guessing at.
  2. Use both levers, in the order a schedule does: fewer first, then a lower strength once the count is low. Going 6mg → 3mg halves the nicotine while the routine stays the same.
  3. If a day goes over, log it anyway. The number is more useful than a gap, and the schedule carries on.
  4. Keep it somewhere that takes a few steps to reach: a drawer, another room, the car.
  5. Name your two hardest moments (first coffee, after dinner) and decide what you will do instead before they arrive.
