What you log stays on your phone. No ads, no tracking.
There is no account. This page lists everything the app does send, and what each one never carries.
What you log stays on this phone
Your habits, logs and schedule live in a database on your phone. There's no account to sign into, and none of it is sent to us or anyone else unless you choose to share or export it. If your phone backs up to iCloud, that backup includes Curb, the same as every other app, in your own iCloud account.
No ads, no tracking
Curb shows no ads and never tracks you across other apps or websites. No advertising network gets anything from Curb.
What Curb sends
- Checking for updates. Curb asks the App Store, and Expo, the service that delivers app fixes, whether a newer version exists. The request carries the app's version, never anything you've logged.
- Curb Pro. Curb asks RevenueCat, the service that keeps track of App Store subscriptions, whether this phone has Curb Pro, and tells it when you start a trial or buy. It gets a random ID made for this install, the purchase itself and basics such as the app and iOS versions, never anything you've logged. Apple takes the payment; Curb never sees your card.
- Crash reports. If Curb crashes or hits an error, a report goes to Sentry, the service that collects them, so the bug can be found and fixed. It carries the technical trail: where in the code it broke, the app and iOS versions, the device model. Never your habits, your numbers or anything you've logged.
- Usage counts. Curb counts a few of its own moments, such as a step of setup reached, the Pro screen seen or a first entry made, and sends them to PostHog, the service that adds them up, so what confuses people can be fixed. Each count carries the app and iOS versions and the country, under a random ID made for this install. Never what you're cutting down on, your numbers, your names or anything you've logged. The switch below turns it off.
You can take it with you
Export writes a plain JSON file you can read, keep or move to another phone. Deleting the app deletes the data on this phone with it.
Curb counts things you may want less of. That is exactly the kind of thing that should stay on your phone, which is why what you log does.
This website
These pages are separate from the app. This is everything the website itself does.
- Serving the pages. Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it sees the address your browser connects from, which page was asked for and what kind of browser asked, which is what it takes to deliver a page.
- Counting visits. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts how often each page is opened, where a visit came from, and broad details such as the country, the kind of browser and how quickly the page loaded. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so it counts visits, not people.
- No cookies, no ads. This website sets no cookies and shows no ads. There is no account, and nothing here asks for your name or email.
Having something removed
What you log stays on your phone, so we hold none of it and have nothing to delete: deleting the app removes it. Crash reports, purchase records and usage counts carry no name and no email address, only a random ID made for the install, which Settings › Privacy can switch off and forget. To ask about them, or to have them removed, write to the address below.
